The Red Stag (Cervus elaphus) was introduced into the New Zealand wilderness in the mid 1800’s.

With no natural predators (except you, of course) the Red Stag’s have established themselves as one of New Zealand's most sought after big game animals.

The roar / rut for the Red Stags begins in early March with the intensity of the roar red lining around the begining of April.
